A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away there was a wildlife photography blog. And on that blog, some might argue there were far too many posts on birds. Until now. You have seen the title and this post doesn't have any birds on it. But it does have a few raccoons.

That's what sometimes happens in the middle of struggle. This week was one filled with attempts to locate my avian friends and me making every effort to capture the shots I wanted. The waterfowl were molting. The shorebirds were incredibly evasive.

But alas, the raccoons came to my rescue and I ended up being blessed with a week of sunrises and sunsets filled with these furry friends and their entertaining tomfoolery.

Perhaps I spend too much time with my eyes to the skies, focused on the trees and my feathered friends, rather than the ground. Because these turned out to be some of my most memorable clips of the year. The young raccoons were learning to keep their balance on the slippery rocks as they scrounged for food. The adults seemed to maintain their composure while rounding up their family of six youngsters that clearly just cannot behave.

As I fall further behind with sorting photos again, I decided I needed to put SOMETHING up on the site for some fresh wildlife photos and video, so here is a compilation from 3 different raccoon-rich locations.
